The composition of Aluminium 1070 is exceptionally pure, containing at least 99.7% aluminium. This high purity gives the metal its signature characteristics. Mechanically, it is known for being soft and ductile, with a typical tensile strength of around 65 MPa and a Brinell hardness of approximately 20 HB. It offers excellent machinability and can be easily shaped and formed, though it is not known for high strength. This combination of softness and workability makes it a go-to choice where strength is not the primary concern, but formability is.
